Isolation is number three of seven in my Covid-19 collection. One night, while self-quarantined, I browsed Netflix and stumbled upon this NOVA documentary called "Black Hole Apocalypse." It got me thinking about space and exploding stars. What if I got lost in space on a collision course to a black hole? Apparently, according to the NASA experts, there are many black holes in the universe. I dreamt about exploding stars over the next few nights. Isolation is from my lost in space dream. Most of us, if not all, have experienced that dreadful feeling of being lost at one time or another. Before GPS, I had to rely on maps to get me from point A to a new friend’s house. I am a complete disaster when it comes to reading maps. I have experienced more than my fair share of pulling in to desolate gas stations, asking where that fork in the road is.
While I painted Isolation, I listened to many songs, but one I repeated over and over... Frankie Goes to Hollywood, "Welcome to the Pleasuredome.”
Hanging hardware included along with certificate of authenticity. My full signature with painting title is on back of the original canvas.
